We thought they were done wreaking havoc all over Miami after Bad Boys for Life. But no, cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, played since 1995 by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, will return to our screens this summer with Bad Boys: Ride or Die. The official trailer for this fourth installment was revealed by Sony Pictures and one thing is certain: the franchise is still full of humor and action.
Bad Boys on the run
For almost 30 years now, Smith and Lawrence have played two Miami police detectives who arrest drug dealers using unconventional methods. But these teammates will find themselves in a much more delicate position in this Bad Boys: Ride or Die. This time, they are the ones being pursued by the authorities.
After two first films directed by Michael Bay (transformers, Ambulance), it is the duo of Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Ms. Marvel) who took control of the franchise on Bad Boys for Life and are once again behind the camera for this fourth feature film.
On the casting side, Smith and Lawrence opposite several actors already seen in previous opuses, such as Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Jacob Scipio and Joe Pantoliano. They also welcome some newcomers such as Eric Dane (Euphoria), Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four), Melanie Liburd (This is Us), Tasha Smith (Power), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul) and Tiffany Haddish (The Haunted Mansion).
