Bains de Mer: 2% drop in turnover in the 1st quarter

(CercleFinance.com) – The Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) of Monaco posted a 2% decrease in turnover for its first accounting quarter (ended at the end of June) compared to the same period last year, at 203.3 million euros.

The turnover of the gaming sector fell by 18% to 56.3 million euros despite an increase in attendance, ‘the hazard in the months of April and May having been particularly unfavorable’, while that of the hotel sector increased by 6% to 111.1 million.

SBM considers that its activities, ‘dependent on the economic and financial context, and the random and seasonal nature of the activity, in particular in the gaming sector, do not allow, at this stage, to make forecasts for the whole of the 2023-24 financial year’.
