The storm caused traffic delays. Some roads had to be closed due to fallen trees.

Thunderstorms with squalls have led to power outages or traffic delays in parts of Switzerland. According to SRF Meteo, there were around 1,700 lightning bolts and some hurricane gusts were registered.

Regions in western and northwestern Switzerland were affected, writes the SDA news agency. The energy supplier BKW reported power outages in areas north of Biel and west of Moutier in the canton of Bern. According to the Elektra Baselland (EBL) cooperative, the electricity failed in Liestal and Lausen in the Basel area. And according to AEW Energie, there was also a power cut in the canton of Aargau in Gebenstorf and Turgi.

In the Jura, rail traffic between Le Noirmont and Saignelégier is interrupted due to a power failure, according to the SBB. Some roads had to be closed due to fallen trees – such as those from Neuchâtel to La Chaux-de-Fonds.
