Baldur’s Gate 3 brings big money to Dungeons and Dragons owners

Baldur’s Gate 3 will have been the big surprise of the year 2023, Larian Studios launched its final version of its role-playing game in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons, attracting millions of players on PC, PlayStation 5 then Xbox Series X|S. The Belgian developer is careful not to reveal the sales figure, but BG3 made someone else a ton of money.

In its latest financial statement, Hasbro shows a drop in revenue of 15%, but Wizards of the Coast is up 10%. The American game publisher belongs to Hasbro and holds the franchise Dungeons and Dragonsthere CFO Gina Goetter states that Baldur’s Gate 3 brought in around $90 million in revenue at Hasbro. THE CEO Chris Cocks promises a bright long-term future at RPGdeclaring in passing that “Baldur’s Gate 3 is just the first of many video games to come in the next 10 years” in the franchise D&D.
