Baldur’s Gate 3 in Xbox Game Pass? Larian Studios sets the record straight

Since this summer, PC and PlayStation 5 gamers have been having fun on Baldur’s Gate 3a role-playing game in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons developed by the independent studio Larian Studios. During the Game Awards, the Belgian studio launched its RPG on Xbox Series X|S (and recovered the price of Game of the Year 2023 by the way), but without local cooperation on the Xbox Series S, not powerful enough.

Of course, with the arrival of Baldur’s Gate 3 on consoles Microsoft, players are wondering if the title will soon arrive in the Xbox/PC Game Pass. IGN spoke with Swen Vincke, founder of Larian Studiosto raise this subject in particular, but the answer is very clear:

Oh, we’ve always said it from the beginning, it’s not going to come out on Game Pass, it’s not going to come out on Game Pass.

We made a big play, so I think there’s a fair price to pay for that, and I think it’s OK. We don’t charge you for any extra microtransactions, you get what you pay for. From the outset, it is a large, meaty game. So I think it should be able to exist as is. This is what allows us to continue making other games.

That is clear. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a very big game, well worth the pricepromising dozens of hours of pleasure to see the end of the adventure for the first time and enormous replayability with the various characters and multiple choices offered throughout the campaign. No question for Larian Studios to devalue his RPG in the Game Passto play it, you have to go to the checkout. As a reminder, the title is sold €59.99 on GOG.com.
