Balthazar on TF1: why the first episode of season 5 is Tomer Sisley and Constance Labbé’s favorite

Broadcast last night on TF1, the first episode of season 5 of “Balthazar” visibly conquered the fans, gathered en masse in front of their screen. And he is also the favorite of Tomer Sisley and Constance Labbé. For a very specific reason.

Winning return for Balthazar on TF1. Broadcast last night, the first episode of the fifth and final season – Tomer Sisley having decided to devote himself to other projects – brought together 6.06 million viewers (22.9% of the FRDA-50), which allowed the channel to place itself well ahead of the audience and beat the launch of season 4, which had gathered 5.33 million followers in March 2022.

Entitled ‘Puppets’, this first investigation of season 5 of Balthazar sees the medical examiner played by Tomer Sisley, who is on the run after being wrongly accused of murder, come out of hiding to come to the aid of the police and Camille ( Constance Labbé), who are on the trail of a fearsome serial killer nicknamed “The puppeteer”.

And if you are one of those who enjoyed watching this first episode, you will be happy to learn that you are not the only ones since it is Tomer Sisley and Constance Labbé’s favorite episode among the six boxed as part of season 5. And this for a fairly simple reason: it contains the scene that the two actors had the most fun shooting!

“In general, I especially remember sequences on which I took more pleasure than others”answers Tomer Sisley when asked about his favorite episode of season 5. “This year, for example, I loved the reunion scene with Camille, in the first episode, when Balthazar arrives at her house disguised as a pizza maker. I had a lot of fun shooting it”.

“With Constance, we get along particularly well, so there was often a bit of improv between us. To surprise each other, to make each other laugh”continues the star of Balthazar. “And in that scene, there was really a lot of improvisation. The good mood that you see on the screen, it couldn’t be more real”.

A feeling shared by Constance Labbé, who also remembers with happiness this sequence full of comedy: “I loved shooting the reunion scene with Tomer, where I slap him hugely (laughs). It’s the one that immediately comes to mind and that I preferred to shoot. It’s really pure complicity, and that’s what I like to play above all. More than investigations in the end, even if they are very successful”.

Season 5 of Balthazar continues every Thursday at 9:10 p.m. on TF1 with one new episode per week.
