Bang & Olufsen continues its eco-design efforts with the new Beosound A9 and Beosound 2

Bang & Olufsen has just announced the release of two new versions of its iconic Beosound A9 (5th generation) and Beosound 2 (3rd generation) speakers. These new versions remain faithful to the philosophy of the original models, but bring new finishes, some new features, and above all a replaceable electronic module for foolproof durability.

The mythical disc-shaped Beosound A9 speaker is renewed in a fifth version which is adorned with three new colors: Black Anthracite, Gold Tone and Natural Aluminum. It incorporates all the features of previous generations, such as wifi and Bluetooth connectivity, multiroom, Active Room Compensation — which adapts the sound reproduction according to the position of the speaker in the listening room — or even the possibility to change the front panel. The Beosound A9 (5th Generation) welcomes a new touch interface allowing you to change the volume with a simple swipe of the hand on the front panel, or to navigate and control playback with a simple tap.

The speaker also has a new platform called Mozart, which results in an integrated electronic module. This module would be so powerful that it would be able to receive updates for many years. In case some protocols or features become obsolete, the module can easily be replaced with a more modern version. With this platform, Bang & Olufsen confirms its desire to design ever more environmentally friendly and sustainable products.

The Beosound A9 (5th generation) will be available in March at a price of 3299 €.

The Beosound 2 is also evolving. If the design does not change one iota, the speaker gains a new color: Black Anthracite. Its interface has been revised to make it easier to use, and it now has the Active Room Compensation feature. The other functionalities are identical to those present on the previous version.

Of course, this third generation also hosts the Mozart platform, which allows it to receive multiple updates and remain functional for many years. The Beosound 2 (3rd generation) will be released next April at a price of €2999.
