(Boursier.com) — Banimmo announces an exchange of land with the City of Charleroi around the Palais des Expositions which will allow the development of a new mixed district. On June 9, the act of exchange of land around the Charleroi Exhibition Center was signed.
Banimmo thus waives the emphyteutic lease in favor of the City of Charleroi on the plots surrounding the Palais des expositions, which the City of Charleroi may redevelop as part of the redevelopment of the Palais des expositions.

At the same time, Banimmo acquires the bare ownership of the two existing car parks P1 and P2, which gives it full ownership of these car parks, with a total area of 3.6 ha.

Banimmo aims to develop a mixed neighborhood on these plots and is preparing, in close consultation with the city, a Local Orientation Plan which will make it possible to file the first building permits in 2024.

The concept will be articulated around a park and qualitative open spaces, designed by the landscape architect Bas Smets. There will be a mix of housing in different forms, as well as shops and offices. Pending development, the car parks will likely remain in service.

LAURENT CALONNE, CEO, said: “This land exchange marks the last step for Banimmo in the development of the Charleroi site into a brand new mixed-use district.”
