Barclays posts better-than-expected Q3 profit


LONDON, Oct 24 (Reuters) – Barclays reported a slight decline in third-quarter pre-tax profit from a year earlier on Tuesday, while beating expectations as its card business performed well. credit and consumer spending continued to offset the decline in revenues from its investment bank.

The British bank published a pre-tax profit of 1.9 billion pounds (2.18 billion euros) for the period, below the 2 billion pounds recorded the previous year.
