No-Go or the next big hype? One is not so sure about the baroque nails. The nail polish trend for maximalists is definitely interesting to look at.

“Vanilla girls” urgently need to close both eyes, because this nail polish trend is not for weak minimalism hearts: baroque nails are a lot. Very much. Too much? Everyone has to answer that for themselves. If you have ever been to a baroque church, you know exactly what to expect.

Baroque Nails: Gold, Purple & Gems

In the art epoch of the Baroque, there were no savings at all. Both the architecture, sculpture and painting, which originated at the beginning of the 17th century, are magnificent, gilded and maximalist. Ornaments were not used modestly, the great variety of colors and shapes characterizes the Baroque. Stucco, ceiling paintings, luxurious materials such as marble or walnut wood together with the paradigm of the Catholic Church form the model of the epoch. These elements can also be found in the nail polish trend.

Translated into nail art language this means: Gems, rich colors, 3D printing techniques, crosses and gold accents. True to the motto “more is more”, all these ornaments, which are otherwise used sparingly, are now used at once. Every single nail is a work of art in itself. The difference between the different fingers is one of the many hallmarks of baroque nails. In this example of “imarninails”, images of God, golden metallic nail polish and sparkling stones compete to radiate.

It’s also “subtle”

Very large quotation marks accompany this “subtle” in the title, because baroque nails can’t be subtle at all – then they wouldn’t be baroque nails anymore. For a more wearable version of the nail polish trend, you can omit individual aspects. Here, for example, dark, purple tones that otherwise characterize the trend were exchanged for a more neutral pink.

But it can also be reduced. If you like the style but find it too loud, you can also focus on a detail. Here, for example, 3D prints and rich colors were avoided, but the cross ornamentation and the golden details were retained.

With a nail polish trend as sweeping as baroque nails, you can simply pick out the aspects that you like best and integrate them into your own look. Or you smack a catholic church on your nails, that’s also possible, of course.
