BASF: towards CO2 storage in the maritime sector


(CercleFinance.com) – BASF announces that it has formed ‘a strong cooperation with CSSC Power (Group) to accelerate progress of on-board carbon capture (CO2 capture) system for commercial marine applications.

The cooperation aims to address the challenges of reducing emissions in the maritime sector to meet the growing demand for decarbonization of ships.

The companies will conduct tests on different fuel types and marine engines to accelerate the development of an on-board carbon capture system using BASF’s OASE® blue gas treatment technology.

“Through our cooperation with CPGC, we are navigating towards a sustainable maritime industry by bringing our extensive experience in gas treatment, as well as our innovation and commitment to sustainability,” commented Vasilios Galanos, Vice President for Asia Region. -Pacific at BASF.
