But in the meantime, the conclusion is clear: players flee Battlefield 2042. As we can see on Steam Charts, which shares various statistics related to Steam games, Battlefield 2042 is not the most popular game in the saga on the platform, or even the second. It is actually overtaken by its two predecessors, namely Battlefield 1 (2016) and Battlefield V (2018).
Even more interestingly, it is indeed that of 2016 which dominates the debates, with a nice revival of interest and a peak of 53,107 simultaneous users at the beginning of November, against only 3,730 for BF 2042. BF V peaks at 15,424.
Future changes and additions could, however, reverse these figures, in particular by relocating classes, for gameplay more in line with the history of the franchise, but also content to vary the experience. Season 3 should arrive in a few weeks, in fact, DICE and EA will reveal the details very soon. Meanwhile, lifelong rival Call of Duty continues to wow gamers, with over $1 billion generated in ten days for Modern Warfare 2.
