It is on the Change.org site that the petition was born, and is, moreover, still available. At the time of writing, it exceeds 60,000 signatures in total. However, this figure is likely to rise further. In it, we can read the following words: EA’s release of Battlefield 2042 was a mockery to all customers who purchased this game for $70 (USB) due to EA’s false advertising”. Further on it is written: According to numerous consumer reports, Electronic Arts and DICE failed to deliver on their promises made at launch, and Battlefield 2042 launched as unplayable”.

If the words may seem harsh, the latest rumor that suggested that Battlefield 2042 could become free-to-play, has certainly fueled the anger of players who have paid for their copy, especially since season 1 has been postponed several times. months, leaving the community without major additions. For the moment, EA and DICE have not communicated regarding this petition. We must therefore be patient and wait for information on the future strategy of the developers and the publisher concerning Battlefield 2042, to be sure.
