Batwoman: Will there be a 4th season of the superhero series?

• Season 3 of The CW series “Batwoman” has just wrapped in the US. Whether there will be a season 4 is not yet clear.

The superhero series “Batwoman” celebrated the grand finale of season 3 in the USA at the beginning of March. Of course, fans are now wondering whether there will be a 4th season. We tell you what is known so far.

Batwoman Season 4: Launch

“Batwoman” has not yet been renewed for a fourth season. The authors of the series also confirmed this on Twitter.

Should it be extended and filming begin soon, we might be able to expect the new episodes as early as late 2022.

Batwoman Season 4: Storyline

In the Season 3 finale, Marquis (Nick Creegan), aka Joker 2.0, steals the Bat-Blimp and fills it with acid, ready to unleash on Gotham City. However, Ryan and the Bat-Team manage to thwart his plan.

While Batwing (Camrus Johnson) sacrifices his father’s artificial intelligence to redirect the airship to explode over a deserted part of town, Batwoman teams up with Alice (Rachel Skarsten), who betrays the Joker buzzer, so Ryan Marquis can heal.

By the end of the season, Ryan’s biological family is reunited, Ryan’s and Sophie’s (Meagan Tandy) relationship is stronger than ever, the Bat-Team is back in Wayne Tower, and Gotham City is safe – or so it seems.

In the final moments of the episode, a mysterious skeletal figure appears where the Joker’s acid rained down and attacks reporter Dana DeWitt (Allison Riley), who was covering the crime scene.

So in Season 4 we’re going to get to know what this skeletal figure is all about. Ryan’s family will also play a bigger role, as showrunner Caroline Dries confirmed to US magazine Entertainment Weekly.

“I think there’s still a story to be told with them. That Ryan has a biological family I think enriches their character and expands their world. So yes, at least in my opinion, they haven’t disappeared. I think they have still an important part of the series.”
