“Farmer is looking for a wife”
More women than ever at the barn festival

Record: 35 women fight for the favor of eleven farmers and one farmer’s wife at the barn festival of the new season of “Bauer sucht Frau”.
Last year, the traditional “Farmer Seeks Woman” barn festival had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic, but RTL will be even bigger at the start of the 17th season. Presenter Inka Bause (52) has 35 women cart to get a first taste of it, more than ever before in “Bauer sucht Frau”. From among them, eleven farmers and one farmer have to choose the right candidates for the farm week.
With so many women, the barn festival is split into two episodes. Another novelty: RTL broadcasts this season twice a week, on Mondays and Tuesdays.
A touch of “Bachelor”
The season just missed another record. Farmer Björn (32) has selected five potential farmers from the letters – most of the season. Only Patrick (25) had one more wife in the last season than the agricultural engineer, who brings his wolfhound to the dates as a chaperon. The Hessian is looking for a “cool sock” with which he wants to bind himself.
Since the Bavarian organic farmer Mathias (33) has invited four women, a touch of “Bachelor” blows over the barn festival. With the group and individual dates, it gets down to the nitty-gritty without hesitation. “Would you work on the farm”, “can you cook” …
With this oversupply of women, it is also difficult for the viewer to keep track of who is going to the farm with whom. Fortunately, the decisions are divided into two episodes. To start with, two farmers plus farmer Lara make their final selection.
The first three decisions are made
Lara (26) stands out as the only farmer in the season. The horse landlady wants to choose one of three candidates who is “wife and friend” at the same time. There is also a desire to have children. Nanny Franziska (24), interior decorator Melanie (34) and intensive care nurse Jennifer (32) apply for their favor. But there can only be two. Franziska and Melanie are allowed to go to the farm in Schleswig-Holstein, Jennifer is not.
Matze (33) also made a decision in the first episode. The farmer from Saxony-Anhalt had the choice between geriatric nurse Eyleen (32) and bakery saleswoman Denise (29). Eyleen spoke of butterflies at first sight, and Matze seems to have taken a liking too. The butterfly-releasing pig farmer only takes Eyleen with him to the farm. It is already “tingling” with him.
Hubert (39), the decision between insurance clerk Melanie (38) and clerk Andrea (39) is made. Vegetarian Melanie has problems with excessive meat consumption by the beekeeper and pig farmer. Since the famous spark hasn’t jumped over either, Melanie breaks off. The meat-loving piglet farmer takes Andrea with him to Bavaria.
