(CercleFinance.com) – Bayer announces an agreement with the British company NIAB for the acquisition of its strawberry production product portfolio and its commercial portfolio.
Bayer will increase its focus on professional growers of protected crops to meet growing consumer and retailer demand for strawberries.
‘Strawberries are the fastest growing fruit crop, with demand outstripping supply throughout the year. In fact, strawberries are the leaders in the fruits and vegetables category, accounting for more than 23% of fresh fruit sales,’ said Inci Dannenberg, head of Bayer’s Vegetables business.
