Bchu and Medef agree to discuss responsible growth

The Minister of Ecological Transition Christophe Béchu is committed to opening a dialogue with economic players on responsible growth, his cabinet said on Friday, after a meeting with Medef on the subject of the Ademe campaign.

The president of the first employers’ organization, Patrick Martin, and a delegation of around fifteen trade and industry federations, came on Wednesday, explains Medef in its own press release, to testify to their incomprehension regarding this recent campaign.

They denounced the method, the lack of consultation with the professionals concerned, the ad hominem attack on the figure of the seller and the diminishing theses endorsed by the State.

The Environment and Energy Management Agency, in four spots, ironically encourages consumers to less buy new, in favor of recycled, repaired or rented products.

The broadcast of the campaign, just before Black Friday and Christmas shopping, irritated these professionals and the employers’ organizations representing them, Medef and CPME in particular.

The Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire, for his part, judged the campaign clumsy.

Mr. Bchu believes that the initiative of Patrick Martin and Medef goes in the right direction, and assured his visitors of his attachment to French traders and producers committed to more sustainable consumption, indicates his minister.

He is committed to launching joint work with economic players on responsible growth, which reconciles ecology and economy by relying on made in France, we specify from the same source.
