VS’is a crazy gesture, which allowed her to protect herself, her baby and her two-year-old child. On the evening of November 20, a couple and their two-year-old child are spending an evening with their in-laws, in Pas-de-Calais, when the tragedy breaks out. The father, drunk after drinking five glasses of whiskey, does not feel like driving. His partner, seven and a half months pregnant, insists that he drive and bring everyone home. The two begin to argue, but the man takes to the road anyway, according to The voice of the North.

Under the influence of alcohol, the driver has difficulty controlling his vehicle. The mother, frightened by the situation, takes advantage of a stop to get out of the car for the first time with her son and tries to flee. Mad with rage, her companion catches up with them, attacks her violently by forcibly installing her in the passenger seat with her child in her arms. “I no longer recognized him, it was no longer him”, she confided later to the regional daily, “I was really scared”.

All passengers in the vehicle, the man enters the A16 motorway, in the opposite direction. Petrified, the mother manages to slow down the driver and jumps out of the vehicle, still running, with her two-year-old son in her arms. He returns to reinstall them by force a second time, but this time she manages to take refuge with another vehicle that was stopped. Alerted, the emergency services arrive on the spot and take charge of the situation. The pregnant woman was released from Calais hospital two days later, with ten days of total incapacity for work (ITT).
