Brutal scenes took place on Sunday morning in downtown Vienna: two young men aged 24 and 25 were attacked, hit, kicked and beaten with wooden sticks by a group of around 20 people.
The situation began harmlessly at first: with a question about cigarettes. But moments later, on Sunday at around 10 a.m. on the Freda-Meissner-Blau-Promenade, there was an attack. The group of around 20 attacked their two victims, and the two were robbed at knifepoint. The 24-year-old and the 25-year-old were also beaten and kicked with wooden sticks. The perpetrators stole wallets and mobile phones before, according to the police, they fled on the stairway in the direction of Urania. The professional rescue took over the care of the two victims, while a search for the group was initiated – but initially unsuccessful. The 25-year-old was admitted to the hospital after first aid with several cuts and a suspected broken nose. The investigations are ongoing.
