Red, yellow, green, blue, pink, black – the list of nail polish colors is endless. With the XXL selection in the shops (and sometimes also at home) we quickly lose track. We don’t actually need a lot of paint. We tell you which colors are really essential and never out.

clear coat

A clear coat definitely belongs in every make-up drawer. It seals, makes the nails shine and makes colors more durable. It is logical that we cannot do without this all-rounder. We know it can be a bit of a hassle to apply top and bottom coats sometimes, but it works wonders. Your nail polish will last twice as long and the result will look even better. The effort is worth it. And even if you want to wear the clear coat alone, your nails will look super well-groomed.

Classic Red

A classic red? Absolutely! It is classy, feminine and goes great with every season. We wear a gaudy red in spring and summer, the darker and berry tones scream for autumn and winter. And that’s not all: the different nuances of red harmonize with almost every skin tone and make our whole appearance look a bit more sophisticated in one fell swoop. However, you should definitely pay attention to a clean order, otherwise you will unfortunately see every mistake. So get your correction pens ready!

Loud, gaudy, neon

In terms of colour, it can really pop on our nails. And what better way to do that than with neon colors? Especially on vacation, tones like bright pink, orange and yellow make us shine even more – and the skin looks a lot browner. If you don’t dare to try the really blatant colors on your fingernails, you can try the bright colors on your toenails first. Because the bright colors are an absolute eye-catcher there too!

Black is the new black

A tone that simply always works and that we don’t have to worry about very much: black. It may sound boring and unspectacular at first, but black suits every occasion and flatters every skin tone. Extra tip: So that our nails are not permanently discolored by the dark nail polish, we must apply a base coat under the black polish. Whether matt or classic glossy, we are fans of the neutral tone, especially on our feet. And in autumn and winter we also love black on our fingernails. It definitely makes the hands look more elegant. Just a real all-rounder.

cream

The royals are doing it – and we’re doing it right away! Nail polish in light and sandy tones not only look super subtle, they also make your hands look much better groomed. A light beige flatters almost every skin tone and also suits every look. Especially in the wedding season, cream-colored nails are very trendy. Big drawback: The colors are usually not as opaque as we would like. It is therefore best to always apply two coats!
