Eyeliner – a delicate subject. Sometimes it is too thin, then again too fat. Believe us, we know that! But the new trends are too cool to be without them. Need proof?

From Melanie Wenzke

We love it – the eyeliner! It gives us a great look, visually enlarges our eyes and can lift our entire face. And yeah, you can do that too, because it is well known that practice makes perfect. And so much in advance: The latest trends in eyeliner are worth it!

Everybody's darling

If your hands are shaky, take note: This eyeliner trend makes it much easier for you to apply it and in 2021 will also focus on an extra helping of naturalness. Because instead of a liquid liner, eye shadow is used. With a fine, angled brush, you go into your favorite brown or black eyeshadow and press it as close to your lashes as possible. This will naturally compress your wreath in seconds.

If you want more, then orientate yourself on your lower lash line. Follow this imaginary line and continue it on the lid with the eyeshadow. Now you have the perfect angle for your wing! Now just connect the line with your lash line. It is better to slowly increase the thickness and length of the line, then nothing can go wrong. For a sharp edge, the contour of the eyeliner can be cleaned again with a cosmetic tissue or even reworked with concealer.

Almond dream

Those who are more experienced and want a little more drama in the eye area will certainly benefit from the Fox Eyes Trend 2021. Because with two small, targeted lines you can create an almond-shaped eye shape in no time. Carefully and with very little pressure, place the thin tip of your eyeliner in the upper inner corner and then follow your lash line as closely as possible. You can condense the middle of the lash line with a narrow line or leave it out for a more natural look. Do not set the wing too steep on the outside! Create length by following the natural shape of your eye.

It is focused on the inside and outside angles, which optically elongates the eye through targeted lines. Again, use your lower lash line as a guideline and an eyeliner with a thin tip for fine lines. Then nothing stands in the way of Fox-Eyes à la Bella Hadid!

No Lid No Problem!

With narrow eyes or drooping eyelids, it can happen that the eyeliner disappears when you look open. This is why it is so important to adapt the eyeliner to the shape of your eyes. Because your wing is just as unique as you are.

For this liner variant, first align the mirror at eye level and look directly into your eyes. Now press the tip of your eyeliner pencil or the brush like a stamp into the place where you want your eyeliner to end. And if this line goes over the crease of the eyelid, then you've done everything right! Because if you now complete the wing it can be seen perfectly with open eyes.

Attention experimenters!

And if it can't be crazy enough for you – this eyeliner trend demands creative skill and real precision work! With a so-called graphic eyeliner, all eyes will be on you. It looks even cooler in neon colors. As strange as it sounds – orient yourself on your eyeballs. They determine the natural shape of the liner. It is best to start in the middle of the eye with the wing facing outwards. Then slowly feel your way inwards, whereby the lines should become narrower towards the end. Concealer is your best friend here! If the graphic liner is a bit too thick, you can always touch it up.

If you don't want an all-over look right away, you can first approach the trend with a fine line. Whether you put it directly on the lash line or crazy above your crease is entirely up to you.

This is how you create the perfect line

For the perfect wing, be sure to place your elbow on the table so that your hand becomes calmer. Make sure that you look down in the mirror so that you can see every corner of your eye. Use a product with a very thin tip such as the Fineliner from essence (around 2.50 euros) or the Tattoo Liner from KvD Vegan Beauty (around 20 euros). And if one or the other line goes wrong: Take a small brush and soak it in make-up remover. Now you can precisely eliminate unwanted faux pas.
