“Band of Brothers” is now 22 years old, but just like “Saving Private Ryan,” Steven Spielberg’s war series continues to delight after more than two decades. The HBO production realistically and never glorifies the everyday life of Easy Company during World War II. The 10 episodes allow you to delve deeper into the story than is possible in films.
The miniseries “The Pacific” was also convincing in 2010, with Spielberg and Tom Hanks once again responsible for the project. “Masters of the Air”, another Spielberg-Hanks World War II series, will be released in January 2024. This will be available exclusively on Apple TV+, but what about “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific”?
For a long time, the US pay TV channel HBO showed its own productions exclusively on MAX; in this country, Sky has the rights to most HBO titles. But Warner Bros., the studio behind HBO, currently wants to improve its financial situation and is even making a deal with the enemy to do so.

It was announced back in July that Netflix would be adding selected HBO series to its lineup in the US. It started with titles like “Insecure” and “Ballers,” followed by “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific.”
This agreement between Warner Bros. and Netflix does not apply to Germany; in this country, Sky retains the exclusive streaming rights to almost all HBO series, including “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific”.
However, with a regular Netflix subscription and a VPN service like Cyberghost, you can bypass Netflix’s country ban and access the streaming service’s US offerings. So you can watch the two war series by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks without Sky – but of course only with English soundtrack.
The DVDs and Blu-Rays for “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific” are of course an alternative. This means you remain independent of streaming and can choose to watch the series in German and in the best possible quality
