Before The Last of Us, the original interpreter of Ellie was at Marvel with Captain America

Interpreter of Ellie in the video games, Ashley Johnson makes an appearance in the final episode of The Last of Us. But do you know that she also appeared at Marvel?

The first season of The Last of Us is coming to an end with the release of the ninth and final episode, “Look For The Light”, which will be available Monday, March 13 on Prime Video in France. Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey)’s journey comes to an end and promises an epic ending.

Some already know it, but this final episode also marks the appearance of another original video game talent, from which the series is adapted. After Troy Baker, the interpreter and the voice of Joel, it is the turn of Ashley Johnson, the interpreter and the voice of Ellie in the video game work, to appear in this last chapter of the series.

The actress plays Anna, Ellie’s mother, in a distressing flashback in which we see her panicked, pursued and above all pregnant by the great heroine of The Last of Us. Ashley Johnson is an American actress and singer known for her role of Chrissy Seaver in What’s up doctor? or his role as Patterson in Blindspot.

But it is above all her physical incarnation, via performance capture, and her vocal incarnation of Ellie in video games. The Last of Us: Part Ithe DLC left-behind And The Last of Us: Part II which gave him access to a certain notoriety.

The original interpreter of Ellie was at Marvel!

However, before joining this video game universe, Ashley Johnson made an appearance in a huge film franchise. You may have missed it, but the actress is part of the Marvel universe!

Marvel

In 2012, she was indeed present in the movie Avengers. She plays Beth, a New York waitress caught in a vice by the attack of the Chitauri against whom the Avengers are fighting. In the final version of the feature film, we see her being at the heart of the attack and then being interviewed by a news channel in which she explains that she was notably saved by Captain America (Chris Evans).

If we only see her for a few seconds in Avengers, she should have been a more important character. Several scenes with Ashley Johnson, including a long in the rubble where she recovers personal effects of victims and another shorter one where she flirts with Captain America in the coffee shop where she works and where a certain Stan Lee tells Steve Rogers that he should ask her for her number, were unfortunately cut from the final cut of Avengers.

Ashley Johnson nevertheless reprized her role as Beth, in an alternate version, in the Lego Marvel’s Avengers video game. Fans were also able to see her again in the Loki series, since in the first episode of the series centered on the character of Tom Hiddleston, passages from the attack in New York are taken up. But her experience at Marvel doesn’t stop there as she played another character, Spider-Woman, in the game Marvel Heroes, a role for which she was not credited.

But But Ashley Johnson

The Last of Us series is available on Prime Video.
