The Olympic Games are off to a good start for France. The tricolor delegation has just won its first medal, in silver, in biathlon.
It’s good news ! France has just won its first medal this Saturday, February 5 on the first day of Winter Olympicscurrently taking place at beijing. Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet, Julia Simon, Emilien Jacquelin and Quentin Fillon-Mailletwho represented France in the biathlon mixed relayhave finished second of the race, behind Norway and ahead of Russia. A podium which thus offers the tricolor delegation his first medal.
Simon Fourcadeformer mixed relay world champion in 2009 and RMC Sport consultant, said after the race: “This silver medal gives confidence for the races to come. The conditions are extreme with the cold and the wind. There will be a lottery aspect to consider.” And to add: “We find the big nations at the finish of this mixed relay. The medals are not going to be easy to getit will be necessary to seize the opportunities. The French are in good shape, they had a superb race.”
How to follow the Beijing Olympics from your sofa?
To follow the various events of the Beijing Olympics, viewers will have to zap between the channels of the Eurosport group. Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 broadcast the events, just like Eurosport 3 for ice hockey, Eurosport 4 for figure skating and Eurosport 5 for curling. France 2 and France 3 also broadcast proofs. The France Télévisions group has also created an ephemeral channel, it is Beijing h24, which will broadcast 7 days a week and 24 hours a day events live or delayed. Please note: with the 7 hour time difference between Paris and Beijing, the events take place between 2 a.m. and 5 p.m.French hours.
