Beijing Express 2024: an injured candidate, should we expect another abandonment?

Season 18 of Beijing Express continues in pain for the candidates who continue to see all the colors. After a new injury announcement, can we expect another pair to abandon the adventure?

This season 18 of Beijing Express, broadcast every Thursday evening at 9:10 p.m. on M6, started off in an eventful way. From the first stage an abandonment redistributed the cards since the Belgian twins, Nathan and Brandon, decided to return home. After a voluntary departure – which Brandon also regretted as he explained to Télé Star – it was then a medical abandonment which once again upset the pairs. Indeed Manu and Mahdy were forced to return to France so that Mahdy, who suffered from a thrombosis in his foot, could have an operation. And in episode 4 broadcast this Thursday, February 29, the announcement of a new injury risks worrying again the fans…

In fact, shortly after the launch of the fourth stage, we heard Myriam complaining about being in pain while his grandfather, Patrick, tries to attract a hitchhiking car. The young girl then explains on camera: “This step begins with a big sprain I injured my ankle during our smashing arrival with Ryad and Louison (at the end of the previous stage, editor’s note). I went too fast on the steps and injured my ankle. It’s very hard to start a stage like that because you start with a handicap compared to the others and it’s crazy“. Myriam is therefore forced to watch her grandfather wave his arms and try as best he can to stop a car.

Another abandonment in Beijing Express?

Usually hitchhiking is my thing, but now I can’t do anything and it annoys me. I’m a millstone” she laments. Why wonder if a new abandonment, medical or voluntary, will take place in the next episodes of Beijing Express. Indeed we know how important physical fitness is in the show which very often asks the pairs to run to arrive as quickly as possible in front of Stéphane Rotenberg after the stop sign. Although physical appearance is obviously not everything, not being able to walk properly remains a major handicap. Still, we must not underestimate the motivation of grandfather Ch’ti and his granddaughter who have already proven themselves. Thanks to the rest between the events, Myriam could just as quickly recover to be in better shape than ever for the rest of the adventure. See you next Thursday at 9:10 p.m. on M6 to find out more.
