The next Galaxy Z Flip would finally fill this important gap that has been present for years

A patent filed by Samsung suggests that the firm intends to tackle a limitation common to all Galaxy Z Flip models released to date. However, you will have to wait a little.

Galaxy Z Flip 5

Of gadget curiosity during the release of the first model in 2020, the series of Galaxy Z Flip has established itself to become a line of smartphones in its own right. After an excellent Z Flip 5, the next iteration of the Korean foldable mobile is expected. Unsurprisingly, it will be a overall improvement of its predecessor. Thanks to the latest leaks and rumors, it is assumed that it will stand out in particular with a better screen, while we will not have to count on fast charging, always limited to 25W.

There is another point on which users would like a change, and for good reason, it has never moved since the initial Z Flip. This is not something you can miss if you are not careful since we are talking here about a fundamental component of smartphones, namely the photo sensors. Indeed, all Galaxy Z Flips only have two sensors on the backA Big angle and one ultra wide angle. One is therefore missing to form the famous trio that we find on many smartphones: the telephoto lens.

Samsung could change this major point on future Galaxy Z Flips

The lack of a telephoto lens doesn’t make the Z Flip a bad camera phone, but it’s clear that it’s not where they shine the most. Samsung is aware of this and according to a patent approved in 2023, the manufacturer wants to remedy it. We can clearly see an alignment of 3 sensors on the back of a foldable smartphone. To say that this is the famous telephoto lens missing from the Flip series is consistent. Can we hope to see it on the next Galaxy Z Flip 6? Unfortunately, there is very little chance.

The first images of the device, although potentially inaccurate until it is officially presented, show only 2 sensors on the back, as usual. At the earliest, you will have to wait until Galaxy Z Flip 7 of 2025 to see change at this level.
