Bernard-Henri Lévy: “The parties are not eternal (…) PS and LR are doomed”

Guest of Laurence Ferrari in the Morning of CNEWS this Wednesday, April 13. Bernard-Henri Levy returned to the very poor scores of certain political parties.

First of all, Bernard-Henri Lévy found Valérie Pécresse “courageous” during the presidential campaign. “She was brave. Contrary to what I heard everywhere, she led a great campaign,” he said.

Nevertheless, the electoral disaster of the Republican candidate coincides with the bad impasse in which the LR party has been plunged for several years. “Parties are not eternal, parties are born, they die, they are recomposed differently […]. These parties, known as traditional government, PS and LR, are doomed,” said the writer and philosopher, following the latest results of the presidential election.

Marine Le Pen, a “sulphurous” and “responsible” character

To prevent Marine Le Pen from winning the second round on April 24, Bernard-Henri Lévy considers it necessary “unconditional support for Emmanuel Macron”.

“The real question today in France is to prevent Marine Le Pen from entering the Élysée,” he insisted. “For that, there is a course of action that seems fair to me. It is unconditional support for Emmanuel Macron (…), because we do not set conditions when it comes to blocking a character as sulphurous and as responsible as Marine Le Pen”, he added. .

“People who set conditions. Does that mean they could vote Marine Le Pen? Does this mean that if such and such conditions were not met, the Le Pen vote would become legitimate? It is unworthy”, judged the philosopher.

“Today, unconditionally, is to block the worst,” he concluded.
