Netflix has just published the first photo of Laurent Lafitte in the skin of Bernard Tapie. The actor will play the famous businessman in the series “Wonder Man”, currently filming.
The streaming platform had formalized the production of this mini-series centered on the life of Bernard Tapie last June, and whose filming was scheduled to begin on March 7 for a period of 17 weeks. This morning, Netflix unveiled the first shot of Laurent Lafitte in the shoes of the former leader of Olympique de Marseille who died last October.

Available in six 45-minute episodes, directed by Tristan Séguéla (Docteur?) – the son of publicist Jacques Séguéla behind the project with producer Bruno Nahon (Mytho, So be they) – the series bears a name in reference to the Wonder company, which Bernard Tapie bought for 1 symbolic franc in 1984 before reselling it after a restructuring that left hundreds of employees unemployed.
In an interview with the Var-Matin newspaper in June 2021, Bernard Tapie was hostile to the project. “I was against it. He’s a friend’s son. Doing it without asking me for my agreement in principle is not very good. There are things we don’t do. That there are documentaries is another thing, but borrowing my name is a bit heavy,” he said.
Wonder Man is expected on Netflix sometime in 2023.
