Better and more corrupt

There are a few good reasons for TV viewers to boycott the World Cup. But there is no reason to believe that anything would be gained by doing so.

EA survey has just revealed that more than two-thirds of Germans intend not to watch their own national team’s games at the World Cup in Qatar. Three reasons were given for this. Protest against the circumstances of the World Cup, disinterest in football and displeasure with the commercialization of football.

As for the protest, there is not a sensible person who does not share it. FIFA is corrupt, Qatar is a state that tramples on human rights, the excuses of Uli Hoeneße and Thomas Müller as to why they still play there are pathetic. Because they laboriously try to come up with reasons where there are no good reasons except perhaps the one that the world wouldn’t be any better if the Germans didn’t play there.
