Knew? That’s why it’s better if we don’t rinse our mouth after brushing our teeth

Most of us rinse our mouths with water after brushing our teeth – but we shouldn’t do that.

Rinsing your mouth with water after brushing your teeth gives us a refreshing feeling. But that’s exactly what we shouldn’t do – because it immediately makes your teeth cleaning less effective.

It feels like almost all of us do it this way: After brushing your teeth, you rinse your teeth properly with water, because hardly anyone wants to keep toothpaste residue in their mouth. And anyway, many of us used to be told that by a dentist or in elementary school: clean, rinse with water, done. However, if you want to optimally care for your teeth, it is better not to do it that way.

Don’t rinse: This keeps your teeth healthy for longer

Dentists now advise against rinsing out the toothpaste with water, because that slows down the strengthening of tooth enamel and promptly stimulates the growth of bacteria in the mouth again. You can find out why in our video.
