Formalized in 2019, the Polestar 2 now benefits from a welcome little makeover.

In addition to a few subtle aesthetic changes, the new model is above all more powerful and more enduring.

The Polestar 2 gets a makeover in 2023

At the very end of last year, Polestar was talking about its Polestar 2 electric sedan through a “special” update to say the least. The latter indeed aims to offer a boost of 68 horsepower to the car, in its Long Range Dual Motor version, with a particularity of size: its price.

At the start of 2023, the Swedish sedan is getting a rather welcome little makeover, with some aesthetic changes of course, but also various optimizations on the engine side and autonomy.

More power, more endurance

As is often the case with makeovers, the redesign of this new Polestar 2 is rather discreet. Certainly, the most observant will notice the new optics and the revised and corrected shield inserts, not to mention new patterns on the side of the 20-inch rims.

This new version also gives pride of place to more standard equipment, including the blind spot detection system, the 360° camera and the induction charger. The good news is that this revision of the Polestar 2 also concerns the engine section, with much more significant changes.

Thus, the basic version (with a single engine) sees its power climb to 300 horsepower, against 231 for the previous version. Regarding the Dual Motor version, we also benefit from an increased power, namely 421 horsepower (against 408 previously), and even 476 for the Performance Pack version.

Thanks to various optimizations, Polestar also promises better autonomy, namely 635 kilometers for the Long Range versions. The standard version with a single engine has a range of 520 kilometers, or about 40 kilometers more than before. Note that the Dual Motor Long Range version promises nearly 600 kilometers of range, or 100 kilometers more than the current version.

In terms of availability, this “new” Polestar 2 is expected in dealerships from the end of February. The manufacturer is taking the opportunity to slightly inflate the selling price, with an entry ticket now billed at 49,990 euros for the basic version.
