A new series of graphics cards NVIDIA definitely seems set to show up next year.
Only a few days ago, we mentioned the possibility of a new “SUPER” range of NVIDIA graphics cards. Cards that would bring a little new blood to the GeForce RTX 4000.
The latter, launched between October 2022 and September 2023, would thus be supplemented by intermediate models slotted between the RTX 4090, RTX 4080 and other RTX 4070s already available.
HWiNFO gets involved
Today, without confirmation of anything from NVIDIA, we have additional details which suggest that these so-called “SUPER” cards are much more than a rumor.
Indeed, on the release notes of the latest beta version of the HWiNFO software, it is mentioned “ addition of the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER “. There is no question of additional information and the software developer has not given the source justifying this addition. However, the creators of these hardware monitoring tools are often well informed.
HWiNFO is widely used – particularly among Clubic – to collect a lot of information on configurations when testing processors or motherboards, SSDs or graphics cards.
Up to 10,240 CUDA cores
The information published by HWiNFO does not give much detail on the characteristics of this “GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER”, but we have, in the process, collected additional information.
It’s the inevitable kopite7kimi who has released a new tweet to take stock of the issue of these RTX 4000 SUPERs. First, the RTX 4080 SUPER would be designed around the 1D103-300 GPU in a “full” version, that is to say equipped with 10,240 CUDA cores. Unfortunately, no details on the memory interface which, to reach the capacity of 20 GB, should have a bus width of 160-bit, compared to the 256-bit of the RTX 4080. To see…
For the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, the question of the GPU reference still arises: AD103-275 or AD102-175? On the other hand, kopite7kimi mentions 8,448 CUDA cores while the RTX 4070 SUPER only has 7,168. On this card, there is also hesitation between an AD104-350 or AD103-175 GPU.
For its part, NVIDIA is not yet confirming any of these rumors, but as we get closer to CES 2024 in Las Vegas (January 9-12, 2024), things could accelerate.
