BHP: two appointments in the management team


(CercleFinance.com) – On the sidelines of its annual results, BHP announces two changes to its management team which will take effect on October 1, namely the appointments of Edgar Basto as chief operating officer and Geraldine Slattery as president for Australia.

As COO, Edgar Basto will be responsible for the continued transformation of BHP through the integration of BHP’s operating system and global performance and improvement, health, safety and environment functions.

Chairman of Minerals Australia since May 2020, he has over 30 years of experience across BHP’s minerals business, including as Chairman of the group’s two largest assets: Western Australia Iron Ore and Escondida.

As President of Australia, Geraldine Slattery will be responsible for the group’s Australian operations. From March 2019 until the completion of the Woodside merger in June this year, she served as President of the Global Petroleum business.
