Vladimir Ossetchkine, a Russian political refugee and opponent of Vladimir Putin, is on Russia’s wanted list following the revelation, on his website, of videos of torture and rape in a Russian prison. He claims to have escaped an assassination attempt on September 12 at his home.

On September 12, Vladimir Ossetchkine, a Russian political refugee living in Biarritz since 2015 and placed on Vladimir Putin’s wanted list for having posted videos of torture and rape in a Russian prison on his website, is at home. and is about to have dinner with his children when he sees a red light, that of a laser which moves on the walls of his apartment. He clearly feels targeted and lays his whole family on the ground. “I saw beyond the wall, in the balcony, in the wall, the red dot of the laser in our apartment”, he explains to Europe 1.

Shots were fired near his home.

For Vladimir Ossetchkine, no doubt, he is a killer sent by the Russian secret services. According to information from Europe 1, there were indeed detonations that evening, near his home, but for the Bayonne prosecution, nothing proves at this stage that it was an attempt to ‘assassination.

So justice is studying two hypotheses: it could be either simple firecrackers, or shots, but fired in the air. In any case, these facts are taken very seriously by the DGSI, the French counterespionage, which has been in regular contact for several months with the Russian opponent.
