This was a particularly anticipated announcement for Kingdom Hearts fans. The next game has given its news, which will fuel the theories around KH4.
Final Fantasy has been at the heart of the news in recent months. After the release of FF16, Square Enix almost immediately ramped up communication around FF7 Rebirth. Lovers of the license and RPG fans will be served, but some of them are also waiting for news of another license which once gave pride of place to the saga: Kingdom Hearts. A fourth numbered episode was made official in April 2022 on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the franchise, and nothing since. This weekend, Square Enix finally decided to give news about the next game, revealing a release window, a trailer and even a closed beta phase.
New for Kingdom Hearts Missing–Link
Kingdom Hearts regulars know it only too well, the mobile episodes of the license are just as important as those on console. Tetsuya Nomura and his teams like to lay the foundations and intrigues for the next adventures in these spin-offs. So much so that they become essential for understanding the foundations of the sequel. So when Square Enix announced a certain Kingdom Hearts Missing–Link, the community knew that it had to wait for this mobile episode with firm footing. The game, which will be free-to-play, should bring some elements of the plot of Kingdom Hearts 4. The most impatient will be able to try to unravel the mysteries very soon.
Kingdom Hearts Missing–Link will therefore be available in current 2024 on iOS and Android. On the other hand, the game will be allowed to approach the time of a closed beta. In Japan, Great Britain and Australia, it will be held from November 29 to December 8 on iOS, then in January 2024 on Android. No information regarding Europe and France at the moment. This closed beta will only be reserved for 5000 participants, half on iOS, the other on Android. During this first playable session, the lucky ones will be able to test the gameplay of Kingdom Hearts Missing–Link. This includes the ability to create groups of three with other players. This provides various benefits, including the ability to participate in raids or get a discount on AP costs to teleport.
Little looks of Pokemon Go
For the record, Kingdom Hearts Missing–Link takes place after the events of Union χ, but before those of KH Dark Road. Players will follow a new Chi character on a mission set after the tragedy in the City of Dawn. This city, which sank into darkness following the Keyblade War, should therefore still be the scene of new events. On the gameplay side, the game will have an air of Pokémon Go. It will offer a map linked to the real world, but players will be able to enjoy it without necessarily needing to move. Above all, mobility will allow you to collect some advantages here and there.
