Bill Gates and Paula Hurd used the so-called “Oscar of Science” to celebrate their couple’s premiere on the red carpet.
Bill Gates, 68, and his girlfriend Paula Hurd, 60, appeared on a red carpet together for the first time. The Microsoft co-founder brought his partner to the 10th Breakthrough Awards ceremony at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. They appeared in black partner looks.
Gates, who ranks fifth in the world’s super-rich rankings according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index from early March, wore a black tuxedo and bow tie to the glamorous event. This paired perfectly with Hurd’s black turtleneck dress with feather details. The 60-year-old added a pearl necklace as an eye-catcher. She wore her long hair loose.
Bill Gates and Paula Hurd were already seen together in 2022
The couple confirmed their relationship in 2023. They were previously seen together at sporting events, such as the Laver Cup in September 2022 and the Australian Open in January 2023. They also attended the engagement party of Jeff Bezos, 60, and Lauren Sánchez, 54, last year.
Paula Hurd is the widow of former Oracle CEO Mark Hurd (1957-2019). The University of Texas graduate has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is a developer, philanthropist and organizer of “unforgettable event experiences,” according to her LinkedIn page. She has two daughters.
Gates and his ex-wife Melinda French Gates, 59, announced their divorce in May 2021 after 27 years of marriage and three children. In a joint statement, they said that while they would continue their work together on their foundation, “we no longer believe that we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.” Their divorce was finalized in August 2021.
