Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher died five years ago. Her daughter Billie Lourd remembers her and shares a sweet memory.

The actress Billie Lourd (29, “American Horror Story”) has her late mother Carrie Fisher (1956-2016) on Instagram appreciated. It is the fifth anniversary of the death of the actress who played “Princess Leia” in the “Star Wars” films.

Her daughter dedicated a very special post to her on the day of her death. Lourd shared a picture of her as a child, her mother pointing at the camera, and a koala. She published the picture on December 26th, one day earlier, but immediately explained her ulterior motive: It was “Down Under” in Australia one day later. She also writes: “People always ask me what phase of grief I am in. And my answer is never easy. I find myself in a different phase of grief at every moment of the day.” Also, send her love to everyone out there who needs it.

Carrie Fisher died in 2016

Carrie Fisher died on December 27, 2016 at the age of 60 after a heart attack. Before her death, Fisher gave her “Star Wars” comeback together with Mark Hamill (70) and Harrison Ford (79). The three actors were seen again in their cult roles in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (2015). Fisher also appeared as Leia in Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2017 and, through archive footage, in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.

Fisher’s mother and Lourd’s grandmother, Debbie Reynolds (1932-2016), died the next day of complications from a stroke. The actress is still suffering from the losses. “It was brutal. It was really, really brutal and I hesitate and still stutter because it’s really tough for me,” said the 29-year-old recently in an episode of the “New Day” podcast.
