Billie Lourd lost both her mother and grandmother in no time in 2016. “It was brutal,” the actress recalls.

Billie Lourd, 29, speaks openly about her tragic loss. In late 2016, the actress lost her mother Carrie Fisher (1956-2016). The “Star Wars” actress died at the age of only 60 after a cardiac arrest. Just one day later, Lourd also had to say goodbye to her grandmother Debbie Reynolds (1932-2016). She suffered a stroke at the age of 84 and died as a result.

“It was brutal. It was really, really brutal and I hesitate and still stutter because it’s really hard for me,” said the 29-year-old in an episode of the “New Day” podcast.

Billie Lourd: “Everything I say becomes a headline”

Above all, her portrayal in the tabloids makes the “American Horror Story” actress to create with this sad topic. “Everything I say is made into a heading that I didn’t mean,” Lourd complained. One statement was even twisted so that it “sounded like I wanted them to die”. In fact, however, the “absolute opposite” is the case.

“I would do anything to get her back,” said the mother of one son. Reynolds and Fisher were her “dearest people”. She even described the latter as “the greatest, funniest person of all time”.
