Lights on for Billy Joel: The “Piano Man” is ending his creative break and delighting his fans with a new single after more than 15 years.

On his social media channels There is already a small foretaste of the new song: “The first single in decades” is what Billy Joel calls his new song with the typical piano sounds in the video teaser and writes: “It’s time to turn the light back on”.
At the end of 2023, the musician had already indicated for the first time at a concert in Madison Square Garden that there would soon be a new song. “I have good news and bad news,” he told the audience while sitting at the piano. “I’ll tell you the bad news first. We don’t have anything new to play for you. The good news is that you don’t have to listen to anything that you don’t know what it is. These hits made him world famous
Billy Joel is one of the most successful solo artists in the USA, having sold almost 90 million albums. One of his best-known works includes the track “Piano Man” on the album of the same name from 1973. The music industry also owes him other hits such as “Uptown Girl” and “We Didn’t Start the Fire”.
Since January 2014, Billy Joel has performed once a month at Madison Square Garden in New York. This should end this year. In November 2023, the musician announced the last “Residency Concert” for July 2024 after 150 shows.
