Investing.com – Binance yesterday obtained approval from the French stock market regulator to offer its services in France.

The company thus joined yesterday the white list of exchange platforms for and other cryptocurrencies regulated by the AMF in France.

Specifically, the company is now listed as a digital asset service provider, allowing it to offer services of:

  • Custody of digital assets
  • Buying/selling digital assets for legal tender
  • Exchange of digital assets for other digital assets
  • Operation of a digital asset trading platform

France thus becomes the first major European nation to give the green light to Binance. Note that in Europe, the company is already supervised in Lithuania by anti-money laundering regulatory authorities and is also seeking registration with the Swedish financial watchdog.

Recall that Binance had recently embarked on a charm offensive in France.

Notably, Binance CEO Zhao gave a talk in Paris last month to launch a new acceleration program for start-ups working on “Web3”. The firm has also pledged to invest 100 million euros in the country.

Binance’s billionaire CEO has described France as “very progressive” in adopting cryptocurrency.

“In our interactions with them, they’re much more advanced in their understanding, and they’re also much more progressive in their attitudes,” he told CNBC.

“France is a very strict regulator. But they have the advanced understandings that go with it,” he also added.
