Black Friday 2023 – The Nikon D7500 camera body “4-star” bare body at €1,069.00

Replacement for the D7200? Not really. Rather, the Nikon D7500 officially slots in between the latter and the much more recent D500, borrowing components from both. So you can see the D7500 as a light professional D500, or as a highly improved, very expert D7200. A choice. In all cases, Nikon manages to produce a beautiful copy, clean and neat, if not original or avant-garde.

With the D7500, Nikon makes a very good copy, highlighting its know-how in terms of autofocus, subject tracking and image processing. For a price significantly lower than that of the D500, it offers very similar services while offering clear progress compared to the D7200. Not necessarily the most original, the D7500 is in tune with the times (adjustable and touch screen, 4K/UHD video) without forcing more than necessary. A balanced box designed for action images, that’s its raison d’être.

Strong points

  • Build quality.
  • General responsiveness.
  • Very effective AF tracking.
  • Improved image quality (sensitivity and shadows).
  • Burst at 7.5 fps.
  • Adjustable and touch screen.
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Weak points

  • Single SD slot.
  • Limited video functions.
  • 2.2x crop in 4K/UHD video.
  • Screen resolution falling.
  • Slightly poor eye relief.

Alternatively

The K-70 has many advantages, such as its fuss-free and efficient handling, the tropicalized body, a 24 Mpx sensor and the Pixel Shift function. However, its autofocus and its video mode are starting to date and are moving away from current standards.
