Blackout Scenario – When we are suddenly sitting in the dark

When nothing really works
Herbert Knünz, Head of the Vorarlberg Civil Protection Association, describes what happens then: “First of all, the lights go out, we don’t even know what’s going on.” And it stays dark. Corresponding information can only be obtained via the media. Happy is he who has taken precautions. Since TV and Internet don’t work, every household should have a battery-powered radio – and of course the appropriate batteries for it. Because anyone who slips completely unprepared into a blackout will quickly ask themselves: Where do I get food from, how do I warm up the milk for my child? With a few exceptions, grocery stores will also be closed, not even the sliding doors would open. “Individual retail chains could at least offer emergency packages.”
