During the Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase, we were able to discover some unexpected games in this ocean of ports and games surrounding old mascots, with in particular the presentation of White. As its name suggests, it is indeed a French game, developed by the young Nantes studio Casus Ludiwhich has partnered with the giant Gearbox Publishing to give life to this adventure game all in black and white (necessarily).
An atypical and already endearing duo
Blanc will tell us the story of two animals who have nothing to do together, but who will help each other to survive through a snowstorm. Here, no text, everything is told in images and sounds. We follow a cub and a fawn in a completely snowy world and in 3D, with many puzzles at the key to be able to progress.
This first gameplay video allows us to see that the wolf cub will be able to sneak into small places, for example, while the fawn will be able to jump higher and further than its makeshift companion. Suffice to say that this adventure will highlight the cooperation between the two young animals.
It will therefore be possible to play in local co-op or online, with very simple controls that allow the whole family to be able to play without worries. Especially since there is no trace of violence here, which makes Blanc accessible to the youngest, as asserted by Florent de Grissacgame designer of Casus Ludi:
” Blanc is a project close to our hearts, and our very first video game. With Blanc, we wanted to create a meaningful experience, without antagonism, based on mutual help and empathy, that everyone can enjoy, regardless of their skill controller in hand. »
At the moment, White plans to release in February 2023, first on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) and Nintendo Switch.
