Blanquer in Ibiza: 48% of French people say they are “shocked” by this trip, according to a survey

The minister has also been questioned for several days by part of the political class.

These are holidays that Jean-Michel Blanquer will not soon forget. Tuesday, January 18, the editorial staff of Mediapart revealed that the Minister of National Education was on vacation in Ibiza when he gave his interview to the Parisian indicating the new school protocols. If he had to face the anger of parliamentarians in the process, it is the turn of the French to give their opinion. According to a BVA survey for Orange and RTL, 48% of them say theyshocked“.

The minister will at least have for him not to have outraged a majority of French people. In detail, it is unsurprisingly left-wing sympathizers (62%) who least appreciate this Spanish getaway. In his own camp, 35% of supporters of the presidential majority also share this feeling.

A declining popularity rating

Conversely, 52% of French people say they do not find this trip particularly shocking, as do 56% right-wing sympathizers. Jean-Michel Blanquer’s influence rating nevertheless fell by three points compared to December, to stand at 14%.

Population trends therefore seem to be more in line with the political postures adopted by both parties. In recent days, left-wing figures – particularly upset – have successively called for the resignation of the minister, who has been demanding for several months now. While on the right, elected officials criticized Jean-Michel Blanquer for the lack of clarity and anticipation of school protocols but did not reproach him for this parenthesis.
