Blizzard: Following the Microsoft agreement, a new license is already in the works

If the takeover has not yet officially taken place, the Activision-Blizzard / Microsoft agreement should in any case make it possible to launch new projects with the American giant. Explanations.

The case is known: Blizzard is currently working on several projects, like the highly anticipated Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV. Despite their fame, there’s nothing really new under the sun: these are well-known licenses that don’t have much to prove anymore (though?).

However, it blows like a fresh wind on the side of Irvine. Indeed, Blizzard has just unveiled via its official Twitter account the development of a brand new project. See instead:

We are developing a survival game set in a whole new universe.

Half teasing half recruiting

The official site fortunately tells us a little more about this mysterious project, because Blizzard lacks manpower, and does not hesitate to bait the barge:

Blizzard embarks on a new quest. We’re off on a journey to an all-new universe: an all-new survival game for PC and consoles. A place filled with heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be experienced. A vast realm of possibilities waiting to be explored.
Every story needs a storyteller. And every world needs builders. And if it were you ?

For thirty years, Blizzard has been creating universes for millions of players around the world. It requires a diverse team of developers willing to lend their voices, listen, and be heard. This is our mission.
Do you like survival games? Do you want to join a collaborative team of experienced developers at the start of a new project in a new world…and help write the next chapter in Blizzard history?
This is your call to adventure. Are you going to answer it?

What universe?

This announcement acts as a recruitment, since Blizzard officially asks its community to come and work for them. If we are to believe the first artwork, the title should be a mix between fantasy and modern world, judging by the outfit of the two protagonists. How many mysteries…
