After four years of cancellations and online events, the BlizzCon therefore returns in physical version in November 2023. Blizzard confirmed (source in English) the organization of the event in California for the weekend of November 3 and 4. Fans will again be able to gather around various panels and activities while we await important announcements regarding the group’s games.
BlizzCon, back in its physical version
Mentioned a few months ago by the voice of the president of the Blizzard group Mike Yberra, the return to a physical version of BlizzCon still seemed uncertain last year. It must be said that the period between 2020 and 2023 was particularly stormy for the American studio with the health crisis and then legal action by the State of California which led to the cancellation of the various events, including the Online version (BlizzConline) in 2022. In addition, the still uncertain situation surrounding the acquisition ofActivision Blizzard by Microsoft could have cast doubt on the organization of such an event.
However, four years after the last physical BlizzCon, Blizzard’s big show will a priori be back in Anaheim (California), as usual. The festivities open to the public will therefore be organized over two days, but it is likely that the first announcements will take place on Friday evening.
What announcements during BlizzCon 2023?
It is still early to anticipate the announcements of the end of the year but it is certain that Blizzard must want to take advantage of the event to mark the occasion. If we expect to discover new Heroes on Overwatch 2announcements about new content on Diablo IV, World of Warcraft or Hearthstone, this is another topic that we look forward to. Indeed, in addition to new features on its flagship licenses, we could perhaps glimpse the first official information around the studio’s new project, of which we do not know much at the moment.
Until November, we will remain on the lookout for various leaks and rumours, while we must also keep in mind that we are still far from this famous weekend and that many twists and turns may still occur concerning the organization of BlizzCon.
