This is an announcement that is already shaking the American media landscape. Justin Smith, the boss of Bloomberg Media, announced in an interview with Wall Street Journal
that he was resigning from the American group in order to create his own online information platform. The latter will be addressed to an English-speaking and international readership. And to direct the editorial staff of his future media, Justin Smith surrounds himself with the best: for the editorial staff, he has hired a coveted journalist, the media columnist of the New York Times Ben Smith. He is also the former editor of BuzzFeed News.

A media for the moment called “Coda Project”

Ben Smith’s name doesn’t mean much in France, but he is a well-known journalist in the United States. In particular because he revealed several cases, such as the scandal of the OZY media platform which had artificially inflated its audiences to raise funds. The company must have gone out of business after its investigation.

According to Wall Street Journal, this new medium launched by the former boss of Bloomberg is called for the moment “Project Coda”, a provisional name. It will offer a site, podcasts, newsletters, but also a video platform.
