Almost two months after the release of The Flash, a new DC Comics superhero is arriving on our screens. The feature film follows a young man just graduated, Jaime Reyes, who finds himself by chance in possession of the Scarab, an ancient relic of an extraterrestrial biotechnology. From then on, he is endowed with extraordinary armor and powers, which make him Blue Beetle.

In the shoes of this superhero, the general public discovers Xolo Maridueña, whose real name is Ramario Xolo Ramirez, an American comedian of Mexican, Cuban and Ecuadorian origin. Born in 2001, he made his debut on television. At the age of eleven, he landed a role in the series Parenthood, which he joined at the end of season 3 in the skin of Victor Graham, the adopted son of Julia and Joel Graham. “Cobra Kai”

With Blue Beetle, Xolo Maridueña holds the first major role of his film career. Originally intended for release on the HBO Max platform, the feature film has finally been visible in theaters since August 16.

A dream come true for the actor: “The only word that comes to mind is surreal, and as far back as I can remember, Jaime Reyes is the greatest Latino superhero in the DC Universe. When I was younger, my mom was a big fan of comics and I think she transmitted this passion to me. It was a dream to play this role and to slip into the skin of this character”.

We will find Xolo Maridueña in the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai, expected for 2024.
