Even if this is often conveyed differently on social media: Every body is good as it is.
How do Germans react to curvy women in sportswear? A team from the TV station RTL wanted to find out and did an experiment with plus-size model Julia from Hamburg. The results are terrifying.
Curvy influencer Nelly from London wanted to set an example for body positivity and got exactly the opposite in return. Because she was seen in a picture of a sportswear manufacturer in their clothes, a wave of hatred and bodyshaming struck her. Again and again she had to read nasty comments and got nasty messages sent on Instagram.
Bodyshaming – how do Germans react to curvy models?
The Hamburg model Julia wanted to find out whether the Germans behave similarly and made an experiment together with RTL. She posted a picture of herself in workout clothes – and sadly, it actually didn’t take long before she got negative comments too. You can see in the video what the messages that were sent to Julia looked like and how she reacted to them.
