Bonus for supplementary retirement, land tax… What changes for your budget in November

Agirc-Arrco supplementary retirement pensions will increase by almost 5% and at the same time, the balances of income taxes and land tax will be taken from bank accounts. Apart from that, the price of gas is expected to rise. Here’s what changes for your budget in November.

The supplementary retirement pension increases by almost 5%

After long negotiations, the unions and employers’ organizations which co-manage the Agirc-Arrco supplementary scheme for private sector employees managed to agree on an increase in pensions of 4.9% on November 1st. The unions demanded more, in order to display an increase at least comparable to inflation (5% annual average over the year 2023 according to the latest estimate from INSEE) and the revaluation announced by the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Mayor for basic pensions, of 5.2%, on January 1.

The November pension payment date, increased by 4.9%, is scheduled for next Thursday, the 2nd to be exact. The actual transfer date to your account depends on your bank. The deadline is generally very short but the operation can sometimes take a few days, specifies the Agirc-Arrco website.

Civil servant bonus: it’s coming!

Paid on the October salary, it is in November that civil servants will be able to benefit from their exceptional purchasing power bonus. This bonus of a maximum amount of 800 euros is reserved for civil servants in the hospital civil service, the state civil service (including teachers) and the military.

Other conditions to receive this bonus: having been appointed or recruited before January 1, 2023, still being in position on June 30, 2023 and having received, between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023, gross remuneration less than or equal to 39,000 euros, i.e. 3250 euros per month on average.

Who will receive the 800 euros bonus?

Local civil service agents and pupils and students on internship, on the other hand, are not concerned.

Income tax: a final deduction?

For taxpayers who have a balance greater than 300 euros to pay since receipt of the tax notice in September, the levy has been automatically spread over 4 dates: September 25, October 25, November 27 and December 26, 2023.

Property tax: balance for the year 2023

If you are making monthly payments, you have already advanced most of your local tax for 2023. But, if, as in many cities in France, your property tax has increased, you may still have an amount to pay. In fact, your 10 chances scheduled during 2023 (until October) were calculated on the amount paid last year, the surplus will therefore be paid in mid-November, or even mid-December if it is very large.

Gas prices: continues to rise

For the month of November, according to the benchmark price for gas published by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), prices should continue to rise. The rate considered reasonable per kWh increases from 0.093euro to 0.098euro in one month for household hot water and cooking and from 0.116euro/kWh to 0.120euro/kWh for its heating counterpart. Small consolation, the average benchmark price thus amounts to 91.04 euros/MWh and remains below the average level of the tariff shield which was in force on June 30, 2023underlines the energy regulator.
